Freeheat On Radio Indie Pop (May 18, 2006)

Radio Indie Pop, the internet's number one independant radio station coming at you straight out of New York City, have added Down and What Goes Around (live at the Paradiso, Amsterdam) to their Thursday, Friday and Saturday playlist. You can tune in by clicking here.

Planting Seeds Records' latest compilation Sunsets And Silhouettes is all set for an October 4 release and features an exclusive acoustic version of Back On The Water as well as Sister Vanilla's Pastel Blue and sixteen other gems from the UK and USA. Baby Baby Gone Downunder (September 15, 2004)

At long last folks it's time for a Freeheat update......

* Jim's a dad! Simone was born on July 26th 2003.

* Nick and Romi are parents too! Sydney arrived on April 23rd this year.

* Ben has moved to Australia.

So with all of that going on you can probably work out Freeheat isn't a going concern at the moment. I guess it's about now we thank everyone for their support in the past so, really, we thank you all very much.

There's still stuff happening though:

* Jim has been doing some acoustic shows - there's another one in London in November, more details soon.

* The Planting Seeds Records Sunsets and Silhouettes compilation features an acoustic version of Back On The Water. There's a Sister Vanilla track on there too. Release date TBA, we'll let you know as soon as.

* The Sister Vanilla album is wrapped up and ready to go - the band are hooking up with labels around the world so keep your eye on www.sistervanilla.com for release dates where you live.

* There's talk of a special Reid family maxi-single - stay tuned.

Jim Goes Solo For The First Time (March 24, 2003)

Jim will be playing a short acoustic set at The Spitz, Commercial Street, E1, on Saturday April 26th, supporting Magoo. Also on the bill are Rothko and The Capes. Advance tickets are not available but you can call The Spitz on 020 7392 9032 to reserve your space as long as you arrive by 8.45. Doors actually open at 8 and the first band is on at 8.30. Tickets are £6. This gig is put on by Penny Black Music.

We Are Back! (March 20, 2003)

After another one of our little pauses we're taking our rock'n'roll back to the glamourous Monarch in Camden. The Track & Field Organisation have kindly asked us to headline their POW! To The People all day event next month. It all kicks off at 2pm on Easter Sunday, April 20th. There are stacks of bands on, many still to be confirmed, but of particular interest to you all should be Sister Vanilla, Linda Reid's new group. Entry is £8 in advance or £10 on the door. Ticketing info should be available at Track & Field's website any moment now - www.trackandfield.org.uk.

Sold Out Stockholm & New Video Section (November 29, 2002)

Thanks to everyone who made it to our week of Scandic shows, culminating in a sold-out show in Stockholm. Viva Espania (April 08, 2002)

We're going to play at a record fair in Palma de Mallorca on the 28th of April. You can read all about it on their website if you care to click here, being able to read Spanish would be a help. We're on stage at 17.30, preceded by the Yum Yums and followed by Sweden's Backyard Babies. Sounds like an early evening full of rock (followed by beers on the beach perhaps?). See you all there.

Freeheat With Sister Vanilla (April 05, 2002)

We're stepping out as Sister Vanilla's backing band when she performs at the Geographic label's London launch night. Sister Vanilla contributes the song Pastel Blue to Geographic's new compilation, "You Don't Need Darkness To Do What You Think Is Right".

Also performing wil be Maher Shalal Hash Baz and the Bill Wells Trio and we will also do a couple of Freeheat tunes.

It's all happening at 93 Feet East on May 1st. See you there.

Why Not Stay In And Watch TV (March 27, 2002)

Isn't Teachers a fabulous TV programme. It's on Channel 4 (in the UK) at 10pm on Wednesdays. Tonight's episode features music from Freeheat (the show's producers obviously have impeccable taste).

More Heinekin, No Dope Thanks (March 18, 2002)

Another stormingly successful show at Amsterdam's Paradiso on Saturday. You can still hear it on the web on VPRO's London Calling site.

Stay tuned for news on a very special London appearance on May 1st - it just might have something to do with Sister Vanilla.

Amsterdam Online (March 14, 2002)

Dutch public radio VPRO will be broadasting Saturday's gig at The Paradiso live on their website London Calling. We're due on stage at 21.15 local time (that's 20.15 GMT).

Exciting times - full house at The Water Rats last night, first time we've ever played for too long - what's that all about? And we were just on our way back to play an encore. Next stop the Paradiso in Amsterdam (Saturday March 16th). We will be taking the stage at 21.15.

Amsterdam Show Confirmed (February 19, 2002)

We've confirmed a show at Amsterdam's Paradiso on Saturday, March 16th as part of the venue's regular London Calling nights. Stay tuned for info on the full line-up for the night.

Jim and Ben Produce Parkinsons (November 19, 2001)

In between preparations for Freeheat's UK dates next week Jim and Ben have been producing tracks for a mini-album for Portugese punk rockers The Parkinsons. The mini-album is planned for release early next year on Fierce Panda but meanwhile you can catch The Parkinsons supporting Freeheat on their UK tour.

Retox Release Date Changed (October 30, 2001)

Due to a complete lack of organisation and general fucked up-ness the release of Retox has been moved back to February 18 2002. The UK tour goes ahead as planned so we look forward to seeing you all there.

UK EP Release Date Confirmed (September 13, 2001)

The RETOX EP will be released by Outafocus Recordings in the UK on November 5th. Retox contains remixed and remastered versions of the tracks found on last year's American release, Don't Worry, Be Happy, along with a new song, The Long Goodbye. The record will be available in CD digipak format featuring photography by Eva Edsjö from a shoot for the Swedish magazine Sonic.

To pre-order the record from shops you will need to quote the label (Outafocus Recordings), catalogue number (OUTA4CD), and the distributor (Shellshock).

UK dates are currently being planned for the latter half of November - details will be right here as soon as they're confirmed.

Outafocus (July 06, 2001)

Following months of intensive negotiation we have hooked up with a label for our first UK release. We're hooking up with Outafocus for our debut UK release which will be a remixed version of Don't Worry, Be Happy with a tentative release date planned for late September/early October. A small UK tour will coincide with the release.
